Performance Assessment of Wave and Tidal (PerAWaT) Project

PerAWaT is an Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) funded programme led by EDF. The project aims to produce models which can predict the potential interactions between marine renewable energy arrays, and accurate assessments of the likely cost of energy, thus reducing uncertainty and risk for the marine renewable energy industry. The Commission has recently entered into an exchange of information agreement with EDF to share mutually beneficial data concerning the characterisation of hydrodynamics in  Alderney's surrounding waters with the aim that the project will further our understanding of the local marine environment.
